MRM UK hires Ioana Filip as Chief Creative Officer

MRM UK hires Ioana Filip as Chief Creative Officer. Filip moves from Energy BBDO in Chicago, where she was EVP, Executive Creative Director and oversaw innovation, activation and social work across the entire agency portfolio. 

She is currently ranked as one of the top 10 most-awarded Executive Creative Directors in the US (as per The One Show). 

Filip’s joining MRM marks her return to the McCann Worldgroup family of agencies. Prior to her most recent role at Energy BBDO, she held roles as Executive Creative Director at MRM Romania and Group Creative Director at McCann Romania, respectively. During her time as ECD, MRM Romania won Digital Agency of the Year for two consecutive years. 

In her new role as MRM UK’s Chief Creative Officer, Filip will be tasked with leading the agency’s creative output and excellence for a client portfolio that includes Microsoft, Sanofi and the recent new business wins of Subway and John Lewis Finance. She will be based out of London and report into MRM UK Managing Director Rikke Wichmann-Bruun, who joined the agency in January 2022. Filip’s return also follows the momentum of MRM UK being named Customer Engagement Agency of the Year by Campaign UK.

Ioana led MRM Romania to greatness, then went on to smash it in the US market and after being ranked Top 10 most awarded creatives in the US this year, it’s time to come home to MRM. In addition to her industry experience, Filip studied artificial intelligence at MIT, where her skillset led her to roles as a startup advisor and guest speaker at several incubators. 

Filip added, “It feels good to be back at MRM and restarting our journey together. Knowing a lot of people in the network already, being familiar with the culture and drive, gives me a great head start in the agency as we are poised to build one of the most creative digital teams in the UK. I’m very excited to join Rikke and the team in London later in the summer.”
